Ukumehame – West Side Maui

Directions & Parking – Ukumehame Beach
Ukumehame is a beautiful, secluded beach on the west side of Maui, known for its slow-rolling reef break that offers rideable waves year-round. It’s a perfect longboard spot for surfers of all levels and a great place to practice timing, positioning, cutbacks, bottom turns, and nose rides.
Getting There:
Ukumehame Beach Park is located at mile marker 12 on the Honoapiʻilani Highway (Highway 30).
Parking Instructions:
There is a small parking lot at the beach park, but most people choose to park on the ocean side of the highway. To avoid getting stuck, be cautious not to park in soft sand.
For surf lessons, continue about 200 yards west of the main beach park lot and look for the 45 mph speed limit sign. Park on the ocean side of the road near that sign, then walk another 20 yards west. Your instructor will be waiting under the first set of trees, parked on the sand.
