ABOUT ZACK
Zack Howard grew up in Malibu, California, and started surfing at age three. By 14, he had won the United States Longboard Championship at First Point, Malibu. At 16, he signed a professional sponsorship with Oxbow France and turned pro.
Each summer, Zack split time between lifeguarding for the State of California and traveling for surf competitions and photo shoots. His career took him to top surf spots in Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Europe, South America, Indonesia, and South Africa.
At 19, Zack placed third in the 1999 Oxbow World Longboard Championships and was featured on international surf magazine covers. He enjoyed a 15-year pro surfing career, ranking in the world’s top 10 for over a decade.
Zack’s travels let him connect with different cultures and share his love for surfing. He taught corporate executives in Europe how to ride waves and embrace the ocean. In 2003, he moved to Maui, drawn by the legendary waves at Jaws and Honolua Bay. By 2009, he launched Zack Howard Surf, focusing full-time on instruction.
Today, Zack is dedicated to creating top-tier surf experiences with a handpicked team of professional instructors.
